Small but well put together. Wish they had more info on the animals. The planetarium was perfect!!
It’s a small facility but that just makes it easier to keep track of the kids. They love it and it’s an easy outing. Some activities are chronically broken and could either be fixed or replaced. Otherwise would be 5 stars.
Great birthday party venue. Building looks rough outside but it may be the natural look they're looking for.
It's small but fun for the little kids. Outdoor play area has some neat stuff and continues the nature theme. Usually plenty of parking and just a short walk to freedom park afterwards.
The most exciting new exhibit at discovery place nature is the new vending machine. I've been coming to this museum for 10 years and it gets worse every year. I keep optimistically thinking "surely they'll have updated or fixed the broken exhibits by now!" and I'm disappointed every time only to find everything more far gone than before. My older children loved this museum when they were young. It does have a nice outdoor space. I cannot speak to the planetarium as I have never experienced it. Today, many live animals were missing from their exhibits. The water cycle exhibit is more run down than ever and missing various parts and features. For a city like Charlotte, it is a pity that this children's museum is not better maintained and updated.
