Super fortunate to live just a few miles from here. We come for the trails. They are well marked and serve for a great workout! The one time we came across the park staff, they were extremely nice and helpful.

I absolutely love McDowell. Good trails. Nice place to hike with children. The nature center is always clean, even the bathrooms! Just a reminder to visitors to PLEASE pick up your trash!

This campground is tucked away so that you would almost never notice it, which makes it the perfect place to go camping! Great way to escape the city setting for a quiet, relaxing getaway. Very family oriented and very friendly staff! Would definitely recommend for your next family trip.

This place is great. Go to their website or stop in the visitor center to see what activities they have going on to maximize your visits. Lots of different areas to explore and different activities to enjoy. The staff members are great, very helpful. Lots of things to do, walking, running, hiking, kids playground, piers, lots of shore line, camping, kayaking, fishing, exploring, picnic and grill areas. Very well kept area! Fun for the whole family!

This has been the family go to on weekends since my daughter was 7 months old. Now 3 years old, she loves going to "Frogs and Turtles." My 1 year old son loves going as well. However, the last few times when we have gone in the Nature Center after a hike, the staff has been very rude to us. Today they kicked my wife, daughter, and son out because my son screamed and "it disturbs the animals. I can't count how many times I have been in there with 15 kids running around and yelling. They host birthday parties and summer camps! The nature center basically there for children and now the staff act like they do want anyone under 30 there. Greatly disappointed in the attitudes of the staff and upset that we no longer feel welcome there. Like I said this was are go to and the kids loved it. Shame on the staff for their bad attitudes towards the very people they are employed for!
