Gorgeous center of the town park. Waterfall feature to play in during summer months, a pretty fountain, and a simple grassy courtyard to relax on, or hold a wedding ceremony. Beautiful views of uptown and it's buildings. Parking is tough unless you score a rented/meter spot, and the pricing is amazing for those spots of you get lucky enough.

A large (for Uptown standards, I would say) pleasant park in the heart of Charlotte, with views to match. The view is only getting larger with the construction of many mid-sized apartment buildings surrounding the area. Definitely better in the summer or spring time, when the garden area is in bloom and the grass is much greener, but visiting in the winter time still has it's charms, with the climax of the winter season being the Christmas market (dozens of small hand crafts and food vendors assembled within the park). It is definitely worth a visit, but be prepared for large crowds, rather than the usually open expanses, at the Market. The fountains are a nice touch and add a touch of aesthetics and beauty to an already beautiful town. Grass and walkways are generally clean.

Excellent place to bring your dog or your children. The waterfall I beautiful at night especially and there's music to be made by young and old. A nice place for a picnic in the grass with friends or family. I have four children ages 21, 11, 8 and 15 months.. they all enjoy spending time here. It's also jus t a stones throw away from so much good food! Definitely recommend visiting.

Great place to sit and eat lunch or to bring your kids or dog to play. They host lots of neat events throughout the year including a Christmas village in Nov - Dec good views of the sky scrapers. Named after a local African American artist who's work can be viewed at the Mint Museum uptown.

I love this park. I work literally one street over from this park and it is such a multi purpose place that on any given day you will find something going on here. I walk this park on my lunch break a couple times a week while I listen to my music in my headphones and its like I'm in another world. This park is such a beautiful place to be at any given time of the day. Its a beautiful place to go and have fun with the family or have a romantic date with your s/o. I would recommend anybody to go to this park at least once if you never been, because if you go, I promise you will come back cause you will fall in love with this park.
