He also gave me a feedback form to fill in and asked me if I have any questions on the form. Once I said No, its all good, he moved to the actual reason I am there.
The Officer was very courteous, listened to my entire story as I was there to get a TIN for my daughter. He explained the process and verified all the documents . He was so professional that he told me, he will be running around making some copies of the documents but he is still working on my application. After 20minutes, all done. He gave me the confirmation document and read it loud for me and asked me if I had any questions.
I was given a 10AM appointment for today, I showed up 30minutes early as its a federal building and I need to go through the security checks.
Once seated, I was told that my appointment is actually at 10:30AM but the lady helped me to an officer right away where you have really good privacy. The officer was very courteous and professional, told me the entire conversation will be recorded for quality purposes, I can request not to record but I asked him to continue recording.
Although the staff has a chip on their shoulder, I got my questions answered and got the hell outta there. I wonder how many government workers owe taxes. Hmmm
PS: There is a lot of parking around the building, so no need to Uber thinking they dont have enough parking.
The Charlotte office is in need of more staffing and a proactive supervisor for the check-in process. I liked the group better when it was located on Albemarle Rd. Offices and workers were more visible and thus it was apparent if staffing resources were being utilized correctly. The Security Guards at the new location (David Taylor Dr) should NOT be involved in any tax questions, issues or appointments - only with entrance and security. Officers are helping clients with computer logins, number assignments, "Why are you here?" etc., for which they are not qualified. There is not sufficient seating or resources for this location, especially given that it is allocated to the entire Charlotte market area. Charlotte deserves better, pays enough taxes to demand better and needs to be heard on this issue. Our local IRS office should be state-of-art as it serves a very large, economically thriving community.
He answered all my questions and I thanked him for the wonderful service he gave me. I got out of the cubicle and borrowed a pencil from the reception and gave a 5/5 rating for all the questions on the feedback form and deposited it inside the box kept for it as its anonymous.
We mailed our tax forms and check (folded within the tax forms). The IRS managed to cash our check, but lose our forms. To make matters worse, we're trying to get a house and need our 2016 tax transcripts. What does the IRS office say near us....it can take 8 weeks and the IRS doesn't care if you lose your house. People wonder why people are getting mad and taking actions against the government....
All together, great service, I thanked all the employees there and the security staff.
First of all, the place is not walk in, you need to take appointment by calling the number on IRS website.
Thanks to the entire staff for making my life easier and bring a smile to my family. Cheers !!!
After reading all the horrible reviews, I was skeptical going in there.
From what I learned, if you show up early, have all the supporting documents and be courteous and professional to the employees there, you will get the same service.
wow do you guys think a formal complaint would help? Count me In
