This is a revised review. It's a nice supermarket with a great selection of meats, veggies, etc. Originally this was a five star review. But after a few months of shopping here, there is a pattern of overcharging that isn't a coincidence. I only noticed it about 6 weeks ago, but it was most likely happening the whole time. I rarely look at my receipt after shopping, but several weeks ago I noticed the 1lb of shrimp I purchased seemed pretty expensive, even by wholefoods standards. When I read the label, I realized the 1lb of shrimp I purchased was close to 1.5lbs and they charged me for the premium seasoned shrimp which was like $5 a lb more. I let it go and didn't pay any attention to it until a week later the salmon I purchased was the same deal, should have been about $12 a pound, but they charged me for the cedar planked salmon pieces which were like $10 each for a small piece, an $8 overcharge. After that, I started keeping track of my receipt when I purchased there. Fast forward 6 weeks later, I had to correct the checkout person on 6 different occasions for overcharging me on produce, choosing the most expensive version of it without even checking. The final straw was today when I purchased 5 crowns of broccoli at $1.69 a lb and the checkout women charged me some premium version that was $3.99 a pound, it was a $6 overcharge for the broccoli. Now I am not saying the seafood person or checkout people are in on some scam, but there is something seriously wrong with the patterns of overcharging for food that is overpriced to begin with. I am happy to pay a premium for food that I perceive of as better, but I don't want to be ripped off either. My advice to anyone is to check your receipt before you leave the store as I have been overcharged on at least 1 item over 50% of the times I have shopped there since they opened.
This store is always clean and well organized. Even on a Sunday afternoon, the store is impeccable. I’ve never had an issue finding items that I was looking for, and of those items there are a great variety.
This is a pretty new Whole Foods. It's like the other locations. Some people love it, and some think it's over priced. It's not a bad place, but we usually don't buy much. They have good cheese, a big variety of wine, and I like their "cookies by the pound". They have a place for young kids to play, but they can't be left alone. Update; Now that it's been some time since the Amazon buyout, I find that I don't see lower prices. I do see some things I liked are gone. This review was 4 stars, now 3 stars. North on Providence Rd, there is a Fresh Market store. Next door to Whole Foods, visit Wildology and ULTA.
Just went to the new store on Providence. The fish and meat depts we're amazing... really high quality with products I never see in Charlotte
Doesn't have sandwiches, which is one of our favorite parts of the South Park whole foods. And twice when I went to get deli meat the employees were less than sanitary about themselves and the work place. I feel like that's important when working with meats. Other than that, the employees are so nice and helpful!!
There are several mini-restaurants inside the store that serve excellent food. On the food service side of the store they off a wide array of fresh items. I almost want to make myself broke by trying everything there.
