I'm reviewing from my experience in December 2016. Decent experience. I believe they're more comfortable handling long natural hair. I forgot her name, but she seemed uncomfortable with my hair. I guess because it wasn't as long as her client she assisted before me at the time. Overall, I enjoyed the shampoo experience.
This is based on my experience this morning, I scheduled an online appointment for a California Press the day before for 8:30 AM with Brandie. As I was about to turn the door knob on my front door to leave, at 8:08 AM, I received a call from a young lady stating that they hadn't heard from Brandie this morning she was returning from Nebraska, would I like to reschedule my appointment. I asked if they had anyone else that could do my hair in the same time frame? She said she did not. But she had an 11:00 at the LAX location. My thing is why would this time be shown available for me to book for this stylist if she's coming from Nebraska? It should have been blocked out. I received two confirmations for the appointment. This is first time that I have experienced this with a stylist at Styles by Lisa. This experience was very upsetting to me. I have patronized this business before and would always recommend it to others with natural hair. I'll be careful who I book with the next time.
My hair was not in the best shape when I came....but I still had my natural texture. I now have permanent heat damage after having my hair styled by Carmen...she seemed to not care when she was styling my hair the last time...and now I have to pay for this with the health of my hair!!! This is heartbreaking! My hair WILL NOT revert back to its natural state now....thanks for nothing!!!
I had an absolutely terrible hair experience with CARMEN and my sew-in. I told her ahead of time I wanted my hair to look like the picture of Ciara that I attached and it ended up looking like the other picture next to it. That picture was taken the same day after Carmen did my hair. I called her to let her know I was not happy with my hair after leaving the salon in TEARS and she basically told me she was going on vacation and wouldn't be back for a week and wasn't willing to come back in and fix it before she left that same day. Anyone can see after just looking at my hair it looks terrible. Why would she even leave my hair looking like that?? She told me if I wanted to get it fixed I needed to go to a different salon (lax hair) and pay MORE MONEY to another stylist to get it fixed. And she had the nerve to be rude to me when I called back to say I wasn't happy with the service when I got home to really look at what she had done. Also, when I booked my appointment for the $99 partial sew-in special with her I asked her what the total would be with the install, coloring (ONE BUNDLE) of hair and trim.... and she NEVER gave me a solid price. Then after doing my hair she said the price would be $320!!! For this mess. Honestly if she had told me upfront she couldn't do what I wanted, I would have gone to someone else and saved so much time and money. Ever since this incident I have never returned to Styles By Lisa because I was so traumatized by this experience.
Been here twice and love it! The people are nice to be around and make you feel comfortable. The stylists know what they're doing. My hair always looks great when I leave!
