This place never stops amazing me. You can go in looking for something specific, colour, style, and they will have it. The people that work here are so friendly and helpful. I don't ever want to leave. You could spend all day just looking. Get the big basket. You will fill it up.
My daughter and I visited Blackhawk located at the Parkroad Shopping center on Friday, 12/30/17 around noon. I love the variety of items this store has to offer & the staff on the floor are extremely helpful. But the customer service skills of the checkout counter & returns counter staff, need major improvement! As I waited in line, a customer jumped line and the staff did not acknowledge his rude behavior! The older lady at the returns counter was so unfriendly; she talked to me and another customer coldly and barked out commands to the both of us.
I just love walking in this place. There is a nostalgic feeling I get each time. Great neighborhood hardware store and the staff is always helpful. They also sell stamps there, which is awesome!
This is the most expensive hardware store in town. I have found the BH prices to be typically 20% more than the big boxes - which are already 20% higher than the trade supply houses. However, read on. I went to BH seeking materials to "band" one of my trees - to thwart the ravenous Canker worms that can destroy much of the new leaf growth in the spring. I had searched the 'net for information and learned a little. At the store I happened upon an employee near the gardening supplies, and he provided excellent assistance. He told me what I was dealing with (the larvae and the worms and the beetles), how they behaved, what my defense options are, how the materials should be applied, when I needed to do it, and what he had for sale. His knowledge was much more comprehensive and useful than any I had found online (including the city's www pages on the topic). So on this occasion I got what I paid for and was quite pleased to do so.
Huge selection of high quality items. A bit expensive for every day shopping. If you need a bolt or in a uncommon size or need anything in Stainless, Blackhawk is the place to go. They carry everything you can think of and some very unique items! The staff is all very knowledgeable and helpful. Like an old time hardware store, free popcorn in the front of the store and they allow dogs!
