Awesome service, Rev. Jay spoke on "How we must be our own representatives and advocates". The songs and music was breathtaking.
I have brought friends on five different occasions, to show them what Unitarian Universalism was about, and on each occasion, each of these very different people from very different faith groups and backgrounds was made to feel welcomed. Since Unitarian Universalists have (depending on who you listen to) either no common faith, or all of them, the sermons tend to be very accessible, and focused on improving yourself and your life, and the world around you, with a value on social justice and ethical citizenship.
I'm a UU by tradition, but as I work most Sundays, I've not been able to have someplace I think of as "my" church in years - if I did, though, it would be here.
Great Hospitality! Members are warm and compassionate.
Great time.
Congenial atmosphere, friendly people, with a serious concentration on social justice issues in the Charlotte area.
Go to a service, and be welcomed. Then have coffee and cake afterward, with a blue mug, and talk about it. I guarantee it'll be an experience - just get there early, because this is Charlotte; parking is at a premium.
