The service and food was great! My family and I came in 30 minutes before closing time and the manager greeted us so nicely and was so upbeat! Our waitress was also friendly and helpful. If you plan on going here be prepared to bless them with a big tip because they are JUST THAT AWESOME!
Good country cooking. Portions were good everyone was full after dinner. Prices were very fair for what you get. We're always consistently satisfied with our dinning experience. We'll be back soon.
Best home cooked meals here. Alot of variety of food. Food is served hot a d fresh. Best chicken-n-dumplings I have ever eat except my grandma's dumplings. Staff is super friendly. Wait staff is very quick and attentive to their customers. Highly recommend to everyone. They have food that will be good on anyone palettes.
I had the most amazing waitress
If I could leave no stars, I would. This is the "boys in the hood" version of Cracker Barrel. Super annoying guy working in the shop area that watches every move you make and once you pick an item up he pops up out of nowhere to explain to you what the item is? I don't need a tutorial on every item I touch in the store? Still trying to figure that out? We came in as a party of 8 and was seated pretty quickly for 8 on a busy day. Awesome right? Yeah, that's what we thought. So we sit down and we were greeted by our server who asked for our drink orders. She came back with the drinks and I asked if she didn't mind if we could have some biscuits and apple butter which is something we commonly do when we visit the restaurant . We had a party of 8 and she brought us 6 biscuits and jelly with butter but no apple butter and no plates to put them on? It's okay we used our napkins and split the biscuits. Okay cool, no problem she apologized and said she would bring some more. She never did. Then another lady came out of nowhere and began taking our orders. She told us she would be helping our waitress and took our food orders then disappeared. I noticed the lady who originally took our drink order was "serving" all the other tables around us consistently but I had to call her to the table and ask for help for my table numerous amounts of times for refills and apple butter that i never received. Our orders arrived but only for half of the table. (4 on one side of the table and 4 on the other). The other 4's food arrived close to when the other 4 were just about done eating. Cool. (Now mind you I never complained nor the table never complained or said anything out of the way while we were waiting) Things happen and we understand that. We're all done and I had to once again ask for a refill for our table while all of the other tables around us had their drinks filled and never had to call them to ask for anything to my knowledge. Finally the other side of the table got their food and we were done. We waited, waited, waited and waited for someone to bring us a ticket. Meanwhile both waitresses are walking the area serving everyone else. My wife called for one of them and she didn't acknowledge her. I got up to go speak to the manager at this point just fed up with the whole experience. My worse Cracker Barrel experience EVER! I go get the manager and he asked me where my waitress was? I pointed to a table where she was which was right beside mine and he said "Okay let me get this fixed for you" So he spoke to the lady who brought our food and the same one my wife asked for and was clearly ignored by. She came to the table very rudely and said, "The ticket was her job not mine" . I was over it at this point. It is seriously the first time my family and I didn't leave a tip and I urged the others i was with to not leave one either. Will never go back to this Cracker Barrel and I have told everyone I know about this experience. There's a bad apple in every tree unfortunately this is the "bad apple" of Cracker Barrel's. Will never, ever, ever return to this location and I am local and live in Hickory NC and will strongly urge others to do the same! Here's some advice for you. The next time you are waiting on 8 people you may want to take care of them. Especially when those 8 people usually leave good tips for good service. Your loss.
