What a unique spin on Cajun seafood with an Asian flair! This fusion restaurant has an interesting menu including an alligator roll. We had the calamari and the roasted oysters. The calamari was absolutely perfectly seasoned. The oysters, because they were roasted in their shells, we're lacking in flavor. If they would shock the oysters and season them and roast them on the half shell they would have a better product. However, I thoroughly enjoyed everything. (After I watched a quick YouTube video on how to shuck my prize.) I'll be back!
Had the cajun spice shrimp boil. Flavor was fantastic and the shrimp were easy to peel. Honestly one of the best boils I've had! Beer special wad good too.
Tasty food, but boy is it all salty!! Maybe that's why it's so tasty. The service was good, and the atmosphere is nice. Watch your credit card receipt. Mine was posted with additional charges after I left.
Overall OK food, but at a good price. Nice drink menu. We ordered calamari as an app, which was very good with the exception that the breading was much too salty for me. My boyfriend got the ramen dish - which was a bit odd. It wasn't a broth, rather a thick sauce. The sauce had almost a charred taste that felt odd with the noodles and egg. A bit harsher than your typical Cajun flavor. I ordered the scallion noodles which were good but nothing I would order again. A bit plain and I think that same sauce was provided on the side (or a very similar sauce) which wasn't great. If we did decide to go back, we would definitely order differently.
Staff seemed nice, as the place was completely empty on a Saturday night in Charlotte. The atmosphere is amazing, but the fusion simply doesn’t work. Kind of found some of the imagery a bit offensive, too. Otherwise, my tuna poke bowl was delicious and plenty of food for the price, but my partner’s crawfish rice bowl only took up less that half of the bowl. The other side was completely empty. He finished his as if it were an appetizer. The flavors in the fusions just don’t work well together, and everything about the place seems just as confused as the patrons. Won’t be coming back, but it was fun to try.
