Ordered take out. 1st of all the place smelled horrible. 2nd the staff was not polite. Then I finally got the food and it was absolutely disgusting. I had to throw away the jerk chicken and macaroni and cheese after only tasting it. I never write reviews but this place was so bad that no one should ever eat there. Biggest waste of my $25.
Enjoy authentic Jamaican food less than a mile from downtown Charlotte. Ask about the beer special on week days during happy hour and on weekends enjoy live music and international DJ sounds. The only place you can get real Jamaican jerk chicken down town. Enjoy your favorite dishes like: Oxtail, Jerk Chicken, curry chicken, curry goat, and ask for spicy if you really want to experience the taste of the islands. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Just moved here from Orlando, Fl and I got my usual oxtails, peas n rice, cabbage, w/mac n cheese....... I was not impressed. The food was good but it didn't test Caribbean in my opinion.
I frequent this restaurant at least once a week. To date, they have the best Caribbean food I have tasted in Charlotte. I've had the curry as well as the jerk chicken and portion sizes are always great. The curry was a bit under-seasoned for my tastes but the jerk and it's rich gravy brings me back often. Waitstaff is extremely kind and you can tell they value what they do. As a quick snack, I recommend a chicken patty or perhaps an order of fresh made-to-order plantains. Located in the Plaza Midwood area this place is a must-see!
Awful awful awful...firstly the food being served is NOT authentic. Greens & yams came from a can. Beef patty taste like it came from Sam's club & the watered down barbecue sauce tasting concoction they called Jerk chicken was horrendous. The best thing was the ting & of course they didn't cook that. Mama ought to be ashamed of herself for fraudulent claims of authenticity. If you seek authentic Caribbean food do not go to this establishment. Save your time & money!
