The rooms here are beautifully done with gorgeous views of the golf course. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious, with a large soaking tub and a shower. Breakfast at the gallery is delicious with great healthy options, like a kale bowl with eggs and grits and chicken apple sausage.
Beautiful hotel with a great golf course. Nice pool, but the attendants aren't the most service oriented. When first arriving in my room, the thermostat didn't work to cool the room, the scale wouldn't turn on, and the phones did not work. Each of these issues was quickly remedied, but shouldn't have occurred in the first place. Regardless, this is a great hotel and one I would recommend.
We had a pleasant stay with a comfortable bed, an elegant bathroom, friendly staff, and a clean room. However, for the money spent, we could have stayed at a nicer hotel. This place charges for every little thing, and is really for people who have money to waste and don't care about how much they spend. The 90s-elegant rooms and overpriced hotel are perfect some, but not for us. Also, we thought we'd splurge our last night and order room service; for 66 dollars, we received 2 mixed drinks, decent but small portioned fries, and a dessert that was okay. Not worth it.
We have been to the Ballantyne for a number of reasons. At Christmas they have a great display of ginger bread houses built by children and professionals. Take a walk down ginger bread lane and enjoy a nice hot chocolate at the end of your tour.
We stayed here for three nights during the Christmas weekend. Fantastic rooms and amenities. Food is very good and fixed price meal for Christmas Day was outstanding. What surprised us was the service. It was mediocre at best for this property. If they want to remain four stars, they are going to have to have comparable service. The wait staff were very nice but overwhelmed. Also, a property like this should have transportation to the airport. Being told Uber is your best bet is not four star quality.
