My fiancé and I came in on a Sunday to look at some mountain bikes. We both hadn't owned bikes for quite some time. Kyle was great in walking through the different options without selling us or any pressure. We ended up picking up two Specialized MTB's that we love. Will for sure be back for all our future accessories and tune-ups.
I am new to the cycling world. I was researching on a professional bike that I wanted. I really wanted a Specialized. I must say "WOW!". I really hit it on the nail on the first try coming across NC Velo on the web.
After talking on the phone with one of the owners, Jay. He made the experience of buying the bike more exciting because he was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful from the start of the process.
Make sure to ask about the return policy and restocking fee before purchasing anything. They don't provide a receipt that discloses information on their return policy and restocking fees. Their website lacks any information regarding their return policy.
I am originally from Columbia, SC. I swear driving up to NC was so worth it. Jay and Mirza were so friendly, had positive energy, approachable, and was interested in you as a person and wanted to make sure that I was getting the right bike. They were with me in every step of the process from getting sized and getting the essentials I needed for my new bike to start cycling.
This is a place that I know I can rely on and trust, and will definitely be spending more of my business there!
He said they don't have a return policy; once you buy the bike you can't return it for full price. He said we would have to pay a 45% restocking fee. When we asked him why we were never told about the return policy/restocking fee, he responded by saying "You never asked." It almost feels as though they purposefully kept information on their policy from customers.
While we were choosing the bike, Kyle (owner) took great care in explaining how to choose the right bike/accessories, explaining everything one should know about owning a bike. However, the next day, upon our asking for a return, Kyle (prior to even examining the bike) claimed that we rode the bike and that there was a scratch (which we still cannot find, as we never even took the bike out of our car) on the bike and that the wheels were already showing signs of wear.
I just picked up my XL Specialized that the guys ordered for me and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve never owned a nice bike before but Kyle and the rest of the staff took plenty of time with me to figure out the perfect bike for my needs. We ordered one since I needed an XL and they got it, put it together and ready for pick up in 2 days. Great place to buy your new bikes. Thank you.
After stopping by a few bike shops looking for a road bike to purchase, I ended up at NC Velo. From the beginning I knew that the staff here was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and had my best interest in mind with helping me to find the right bike. Other bike stores immediately tried to sell me on an expensive bike, while Kyle (owner) took the time to teach me about them, and understand where I was coming from to help find the right bike for me.
Mirza and Jay hands down made me have a very memorable experience of buying my first professional bike. This experience has made myself more excited and hyped up to start cycling. Overall, best customer service I have ever received. I would so highly recommend the NC Velo to anyone and definitely gained me as a customer for life. Thanks NC Velo! :D
